Hopelessness, grief, and worry are some of the most common but uncomfortable emotions that we experience at some point in our lives. These feelings can accompany new or familiar stressors and can impact health and wellbeing, relationships, work or school performance, or just feeling like yourself. Therapy can be a safe space to help you overcome these feelings and regain the motivation and joy you once had in your life.
I am a Licensed Social Worker (LMSW) in the State of Michigan with over ten years of experience working with individuals and families. I specialize in providing therapy services to those coping with medical illness, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, relationship issues, and substance use concerns. I also have additional training to provide treatment to caregivers and healthcare providers who are facing compassion fatigue or secondary trauma and burnout.
My goal is to help you tame the feelings that are troubling you so that you can move toward positive change. To do this, we will work together to identify your goals and implement effective strategies that fit within your life and help you to thrive. My approach typically includes integrated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques as well as a focus on your strengths. I believe in the importance of trust, respect, and openness in the therapeutic relationship and therefore aim to create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental atmosphere. Whether you are feeling out of sorts, struggling in your life, or looking for support, I look forward to partnering with you through this part of your journey.

Life is full of change and transitions and can easily cause us to feel overwhelmed, anxious or depressed. Being unable to understand or control our thoughts and feelings often leads to difficult or challenging experiences that can be hard to navigate. Therapy is a way to honor these experiences and hold space for self-reflection and understanding.
Finding the right therapist can be overwhelming, especially if you are already feeling emotionally drained. My approach is to help you identify your goals and meet you with compassion and empathy. I strive to create a validating, non-judgmental environment to teach you skills to manage overwhelming emotions and improve relationships. While providing a safe and accepting place, we will partner together to identify your needs and the most effective strategies to help improve your wellbeing.

I also have experience providing therapeutic counseling to critical care team members or other healthcare providers who are experiencing compassion fatigue or burnout. I have a particular interest in providing support to individuals coping with life transitions and those anxious or depressed.
